Born from a French-Canadian mother and an Swiss-German father, I grew up in Canada. At the young age of 19, I left Canada to follow my roots to Switzerland. After 26 years in Europe, I've decided to come back. Now, I'm a bit of expat in my home country.

Beautiful Weather
We've had this kind of weather all week and it should hold until the weekend! This pic was taken from the balcony at work towards the northeast around 1 pm. The sun was too bright to try a shot towards the south...
Yes, it's a nusery - or greenhouse, but has nothing to do with the company I work for. And believe me at this time of year, when the sun is really low, all you would have seen is a glow. :-)
yeah!!! It's my inspiration photo! Well we are at 24 days of rain here in Vancouver. So Basel is a bit better than here for sure. I am told maybe I will wake up to a birthday sky full of sun and blue...
I'm amazed by the good weather here, but I lived in Holland for 10 yearsso my perspective might be a little off. Aside from it being dark all the time in the winter (which it is in Holland, too), it doesn't rain nearly as much.
hey ms. canadianswiss, there is a BIG mistake in your last report about bad fischau-brunn and wr.neustadt: the little village where we are living is bad fischau-brunn (http://www.bad-fischau-brunn.at) and here are living just 2.668 people, in 1.250 houses. and a lot of them are just weekendhouses for poeple from vienna. the city we were eating in the hobel&scher and we had the wiener schnitzel is "wiener neustadt" (http://wienerneustadt.at), and yes, THERE are living around 45.000 people. but it seems to be that close, that you didn´t realize, that we left bad fischau and entered wiener neustadt ... opay, next time you visit austria i´ll show you the "borderline" ;-)
Sorry, Pinki! It was late when I wrote the actual post on Tuesday night and probably too early the next day when I checked for spelling mistakes before posting it. Orange actually mentioned it and I forgot to change it this morning.
CS - we got sun this morning. Like blue sky and clouds all around and no rain clouds that I can see.
By the way is it Orange X who changed your top theme? I love it! How in the heck do you do that? From someone who knows about most of this stuff, I've never tried... Silly..

It's kind of sad that it's actually exciting to have a few days in a row where it's not gray and damp...I guess that's winter in Basel for you!
Yeah yeah, like I care the sun was too bright..... : -)
Is that a greenhouse out there? I was wondering where all those gasses they're complaining about were coming from and I think I can tell them now.

Oh... you mean Basel weather isn't good?

Expat- I hope you do wake up to a sunny day. Wouldn't that be a nice birthday present?
Rebecca - Usually, there is much more rain here during the winter, although it's not as bad Frankfurt and above that.
